Shiva's Dance Tandav
Shiva's Dance Tandav
Shiva is known all over the world as a god of awe-inspiring and terrible power. For many Hindus, he is the god of destruction, rending the universe and bringing existence back to emptiness when the Yuga cycle comes to its completion. Shiva, the Bholenath is the Bhairava. He is the savior and the destroyer. And hence, he is comprehensible yet beyond one's grasp. He is compassionate, yet the one with the third 'destructive' eye. And above all, he is the God of the Gods. Shiva is everything that describes the exact opposites. As Nataraja, the Lord of Dance, Shiva comes across as the fiercest yet the most joyful divine cosmic dancer. The Tandava, a hugely popular dance form, is believed to have been performed by Shiva. And most of us believe that it represents the most aggressive form of dance. In this role, Shiva is an essential element of the godhead, clearing the way for the universe to renew itself. Famously, Shiva accomplishes his destruction through his Tandava - also called Tandava Natyam - a dance he performs to bring the universe to darkness. But Shiva’s Tandava has many other purposes as well. He dances through the entire cycle of the lifespan of the universe. From its creation to its preservation and, finally, to its end, the Tandava accompanies and makes possible all three phases. The Hindu scriptures narrate various occasions when Shiva performed the Tandava. When Sati, the first wife of Shiva gave up her life in Daksha's sacrifice, Shiva is said to have performed the Rudra Tandava to express his grief and anger. The Shivapradosha stotra says when Shiva performs the Sandhya Tandava, the other gods like Brahma, Vishnu, Sarasvati, Lakshmi and Indra play musical instruments and sing Shiva's praises. The dance performed by Shiva's wife Parvati in response to Shiva's Tandava is known as Lasya, in which the movements are gentle, graceful and sometimes erotic. Some scholars consider Lasya to be the feminine version of Tandava. There are two types of Lasya, Jarita Lasya and Yauvaka Lasya.

Kali Yuga is coming to an end. SO many people awakening. Knowledge of electricity, energy and the subtle Pranas are spreading once again. Many people over the whole planet are practicing the Yogas. We are already in the ascending Dwapara Yuga. The evil that the holy scriptures describe are mostly the uncovering of the ugly truth that has been hidden for so long. Don't forget: Maha Kali cleanses the world. Jai Shree Ram.

Jai Nataraja! My other favourite professor back in university--I had two--her last name is Natarajan, which is just a derivative of that word, right/ King of the Dance, I do believe? And funnily enough, she was also a classical Indian dancer. Natarani, I once jokingly called her, but I don't know if that's grammatically accurate? "Queen of the Dance"?

DRONA was a SELFISH , UNFAIR TEACHER Cheating his way to SUCCESS. His WORD was MORE IMPORTANT than RIGHTEOUSNESS ! IN the END he CAUGHT Himself and his SON Too , on the WRONG SIDE of the WAR Ruining Everything that HE had So Carefully Schemed for ! Regarding KRISHNA Killing EKALAVYA , IT is Simple. Ekalavya fought on the SIDE of JARASANDHA the TYRANT against KRISHNA ! That was like BISHMA , KARNA , DRONA , and So many SELFISH GOOD Men fighting for UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. NATURALLY KRISHNA KILLED Him and Indirectly them too !

My issue with the storyteller and the commentators below is that you people read the Hindu literature, or the Vedas, based on western ideals, which makes you people incorrect all the time. In this culture, karma and dharma are more important than right and wrong. Truth, or Satya, has never remained consistent. Satya is a reliance on who’s narrative or perspective you are hearing or following. Karma and dharma are the same; you act in a way that is right for you and your conscience. It is neither wrong nor right because Dhrona has adhered to his dharma; he has not only taken Ekalavya's thumb but has also fought Arjuna. Every character in the epic does the same, they followed their dharma. Kurukshetra's ending reminds us about the struggles, setbacks, and victories you have in the fight for your rights and conventions-rather than the triumph of good over evil. Look through all the books in the world; you won't find a more sophisticated and comprehensive work anyplace. they cover every aspect of human existence and nature, You are restricting your mind to the size of a pigeon's poop, if you are attempting to comprehend the complete story on some western morals. Your mind needs vastness like the sky for this!
